21st Ion Beam Analysis Conference
The International Conference on the 21st Ion Beam Analysis (IBA) Conference will be held at the Marriott Waterfront in Seattle, USA on June 23-28, 2013.
The International Conference on Ion Beam Analysis is a forum where scientists, professors and students from all over the world discuss the recent advances and future prospects in ion beam analysis. Traditionally this international forum bring together physicists, material scientists, accelerator and ion beam specialists and those who are interested in the analysis of any material using low, medium and high energy ion beams.
Topics will include, but are not limited to:
Fundamentals of ion-solid interactions (Fundamentals of IBA)
· Stopping and straggling
· Cross sections
· Ion induced luminescence
· Modeling simulations
Applications of IBA
· Materials science
· Environmental science
· Nuclear energy
· Art and archaeometry
· Geophysics: earth and planetary sciences
· Biology and medicine
· Forensics
Experimental developments and novel IBA techniques
· Coupled and complementary analysis with other capabilities
· Automated analysis
· Analysis of inhomogeneous samples
· Facilities and instrumentations
Ion Beam Imaging
· Helium ion microscopy
· Microprobe and nanoprobe imaging
· Molecular and chemical imaging
· Coupled imaging capabilities (FIB/APT/STEM)
Invited Speakers
Leading scientists in the topics listed above will be invited to present their results.
Call for Contributed Papers
Contributed papers are requested for both oral and poster sessions. The program committee will organize papers into appropriate technical sessions. Participants who wish to present a paper should submit an abstract for consideration before February 15, 2013. Instructions for abstract preparation will be available at the conference website at http://www.emsl.pnnl.gov/root/meetings/iba/.
Published Proceedings
Papers from the symposium will be published in a special issue of NIM B. When you submit your abstract(s), please indicate if you intend to submit a full-length manuscript for publication. Instructions regarding the preparation of the manuscript will be posted on a later date.
Poster Presentations
Poster sessions and receptions will be held in conjunction with the vendor exhibit on Tuesday, June 25 and Wednesday, June 26. Included in the poster sessions will be a student poster competition for full-time undergraduate and graduate students. Cash awards will be given to the winners of these competitions.

The registration fee includes the final program; one copy of the conference proceedings; lunches and refreshments during conference; poster and vender receptions; excursion to Tillicum Village and the conference banquet. The student registration fee of $275 includes everything listed above except the conference proceedings.
Student Participation
To encourage student participation, we will subsidize a limited number of accommodations for students. These accommodations will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. For details, contact Barbara Diehl at barb@pnnl.gov.
Vendor Exhibit and Sponsorship
A vendor exhibit will be held on Tuesday, June 25 - Thursday, June 27 during the conference. Exhibition Booth: 8’x3’ tables will be provided in each exhibit area (approximate dimension 10’x5’). In addition to the vendor exhibit many opportunities exist for sponsorships. Because space is limited, please contact Everett Lapp at erlapp@comcast.net and/or Theva Thevuthasan at theva@pnnl.gov at your earliest convenience for more information.
